Are the four letter word projects writing?
I don't think that the four letter word projects are writing. To me writing is expressing an argument or idea through words on a piece of paper. Writing is a type of communication. The four letter word projects are also a form of communication. Just because they are both trying to express something does not mean they are the same thing. Yes they are about using a word, but it is more using the word through visual images which turns it more to the artistic side of things.not to say writing isn't artistic, it is just a less visible form of art. Writing is not visible, four letter projects are.
Thank you for your honest and enlightening post. I definitely agree with you, somewhat that the projects are not writing. But at the same time I believe they are. Have you thought that writing IS visible? Have you ever read something and have images pop up in your mind? Do you think that counteracts your argument? I am asking because you state that both writing and the projects both express ideas, but writing is a less visible form of art while images are artistic. Your last sentence then states how writing is completely invisible. Is this true? Just a thought :)
ReplyDeleteI agree with your thought of four letter words. I wouldn't transfer into referencing the "art" part though. It kind of comes out of nowhere. Maybe you should choose a better word.
